Bristol Orthodontics offer a wide range of dental treatments

First Appointment

Your first visit will be an initial orthodontic examination and consultation. We place a lot of emphasis on the initial consultation as this is our opportunity to carefully listen and discuss with you how you feel about your teeth and general appearance, exactly what you wish to achieve and why. We will also discuss the physical effect your teeth are having on your day to day life and may assess the general condition and position of your teeth, bones and other structures of the mouth in order to recommend options for treatment. We may also take diagnostic records e.g. X-Rays, photographs and impressions.

Our objective is to make sure your first visit to us will be pleasant and informative.

Orthodontic Treatment

If your adult teeth have grown crooked or oddly positioned, or your top and bottom teeth don’t meet correctly when you bite together, you’ll benefit from orthodontic treatment to reposition them into a straight, healthy and comfortable smile. There are a variety of treatment approaches and the braces can even be invisible.

Different types of braces

Metal braces are most popular with children and teenagers. They love using different colours of ligature ties as fashion accessories. These braces are much smaller than ever before.

Gold braces are a recent addition to our line of brackets. They are stainless steel braces coated with 24 karat gold. They have the strength of metal, but blend in with the colour of the teeth much better as most teeth have a natural yellow tint. Quite often, we will put ceramic braces on the top teeth and gold braces on the bottom.

Translucent clear ceramic braces are popular with adults. You have to be very close to someone to be able to see them, yet, because they are a ceramic material, they are more fragile. Alternatively, adults often opt for invisible braces, usually either lingual or invisalign.
