Removable appliances

Removable appliances feature a plate, which is worn continually but taken out of the mouth for cleaning. These usually hold wire springs, which coax the teeth into new positions, although screws and elastics may also be used. These appliances are mechanically less efficient compared with fixed appliances and are normally therefore only used to perform certain parts of a treatment.
