Hygienists

Our dental hygienists are invaluable members of the team and are experts in helping patients with every aspect of their oral hygiene, before, during and after treatment. Good Oral hygiene techniques are shown to patients when their braces are fitted. It is extremely important for optimum oral hygiene to be maintained during the treatment to avoid any damage to both teeth and gums.
Further qualifications allow them to take dental impressions which are taken at the start and finish of treatment.

Dental Therapists

Dental therapists can work in the same way as dental hygienists but also have additional skills to carry our fillings in teeth and extractions of deciduous (baby) teeth.

Orthodontic Therapists

Orthodontic Therapists are trained to specifically work with orthodontic patients. They are able to carry our every aspect of orthodontic treatment with exception to treatment planning. The treatment planning of a patient is carried out before treatment can commence by a Specialist Orthodontist, this treatment plan is then followed by the Orthodontic Therapist under the supervision of the Orthodontist.
At Bristol Orthodontics, we currently employ one Orthodontic Therapist and have two of our Orthodontic nurses accepted on a course which begins in July 2010.
