Quality Assurance

Everybody wants to be sure they are getting the best quality and value from any service they use and this includes orthodontics.

Quality itself is generally regarded as a degree of excellence but it takes a quality assurance programme to assess the specific, measurable degree of quality being provided.

In Dentistry and Orthodontics, the quality assurance system is called Clinical Governance and our programmes are overseen or verified by the local Health Authority.

Under Clinical Governance, Quality may be measured in terms of:

  • safety of patients and staff
  • consistency in high standards of treatment and service
  • management
  • personnel development

All of our staff have to be involved in implementing and running our Quality Assurance programmes and the programmes must constantly evolve - quality improvements are always possible and we continually chase this moving target.

We consider quality improvements in the short, medium and long term planning of the practice development, including when implementing new developments and team training.

Click on our Clinical Governance page to read about our current quality assurance programmes and our Specialist Register page to read about the additional qualifications our orthodontists have taken to achieve special recognition and what this means to you as a patient. We have also provided details of our publication scheme in order to comply with the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
