Fixed appliances are used to guide teeth more accurately into position.
Brackets and bands are temporarily stuck to the teeth and wires, springs
or elastics are used to exert the necessary forces.
Simple fixed appliances are attached to just a few teeth while fixed
multiband appliances involve most or all teeth.

A strong screw is used to expand the upper jaw bone. |

Trans-Palatal Arch (T.P.A.)
A thick metal wire helps to stabilise the upper molar teeth
to reduce undesirable tooth movements. |

Lower Lingual Arch Appliance (L.L.A.)
A thick metal wire helps to stabilise the lower molar teeth
to reduce undesirable tooth movements. |
